Beyond diagnostic accuracy: bridging research, clinical practice and policy to integrate Nanopore sequencing into tuberculosis care in Kyrgyzstan

This poster presents findings combining a prospective evaluation of targeted next-generation sequencing (tNGS) using Oxford Nanopore Technologies with qualitative implementation research on drug-resistant tuberculosis care in Kyrgyzstan. The study combines prospective diagnostic data from 1,065 adults with pulmonary TB, including 721 participants with paired interpretable tNGS and standard-of-care DST results, with qualitative evidence from interviews and laboratory observations. The poster highlights diagnostic performance, turnaround time, and key operational, clinical and policy considerations for routine implementation and scale-up. The work was conducted within the Dream Fund project “No More Pandemics”, supported by the Dutch Postcode Lottery. Prepared for presentation at the Geneva Health Forum 2026, Geneva, Switzerland, 10–12 November 2026.
