DIFFERENT PHOSPHORUS-SOLUBILIZING BACTERIA COMPOSITION FOR LETTUCE CROPS: INTERSECTIONS OF AGRONOMIC EFFICIENCY, FAMILY FARMING, CIRCULAR ECONOMY, BRAZILIAN PUBLIC POLICIES AND SUSTAINABILITY INTERNATIONAL AGENDA
Phosphorus bioavailability is a major constraint in tropical agriculture, demanding alternatives that reduce environmental risks and promote sustainability. This study evaluated different compositions of phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) in lettuce cultivation, focusing on their socio-environmental implications. The bio-inputs acted as physiological sinks, converting phosphorus into plant biomass while mitigating environmental footprints and water eutrophication risks. Integrating industrial byproducts validated a circular economy model, offering a viable replacement for mineral fertilizers. From a social science and public policy perspective, democratizing access to these sustainable biotechnologies directly strengthens the socioeconomic resilience of family farming. By reducing economic vulnerability to global input markets, this technology connects biological soil management to Brazilian law and the international sustainability agenda. Aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate justice frameworks, these regenerative practices promote a fair, inclusive, and legally supported agricultural transition.
