A GIFT AND A WARNING : On What A1–A16 Gives Agentic Developers Today, What It Does Not Give Them, and Why the Warning Must Travel With the Gift
On October 27, 2026, Gadi Singer published a post arguing that agentic AI requires anindependent control plane — a separation of powers between the enterprise that sets policy, the agent that executes, and an independent layer that verifies and adjudicates. https:/lnkd.in/p/efGYkE9B The comment thread was remarkable. Five practitioners, independently, arrived at the same structural requirements:· The mandate must travel with the action· The mandate must narrow at each delegation· The monitor must hold its own copy of what the agent read· Observability is not oversight· Someone must audit the monitor Every one of those requirements has a specification. They are A12, A10, A16, A15, and the trust-root residual — respectively. The thread is the diagnosis arriving independently in enterprise practice. What it lacks is the address. This paper is the address. It is written as a comment — deliberately — because a comment is what a practitioner reads. It is also written as a paper, because a comment is not a record. It makes one gift and one warning.
