Perancangan Alat Bantu Ergonomis untuk Menunjang Perilaku Disiplin Anak Melalui Pendekatan Bio-mimikri

Purpose: This study aimed to design and develop furniture as a medium or assistive tool to foster children’s disciplined behavior in returning their belongings to designated places at home. Methodology: The study employed an ergonomic product design approach integrated with a biomimicry design method. Findings: The study produced a piece of furniture whose form and colors resemble the fruit of the Patuk Manuk plant (Thunbergia alata). Observations indicated that the product created an enjoyable experience for children when placing their belongings neatly and systematically. The System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded a score of 80, indicating good usability, while the Godspeed questionnaire demonstrated high reliability, with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.93. Conclusion: The study developed an ergonomic assistive product that supports the development of disciplined behavior in children. The product demonstrated good usability, was well accepted by both children and parents, and provided an enjoyable experience for users interacting with it. Originality: The design integrates ergonomic product design and biomimicry, a combination that remains relatively uncommon in innovative product development. Integrating these approaches is expected to provide complementary benefits in developing learning aids that support the formation of disciplined habits among children in the home environment.
