The Web Principle: A Principle of Flow in Nature
The Web Principle states a single pattern found at every level of nature so far examined: what is scarce flows along channels, down a gradient of need, through nodes that filter what passes, and every movement and every act of filtering is paid for. Nothing sits still when there is slope for it to run down, and nothing runs for free. A household sends food to the hungry end of the table; a forest moves water and sugar toward the tree that needs them; a star spends its fuel holding itself up. The shapes differ at every scale; the bookkeeping does not. This mapping sets out the pattern level by level, from the cosmic web to the household, marks where choosing enters, and states the findings that would break it. The Principle is a principle, not an equation: it stands outside the twelve Morningstar equations as their framing. Its homes are both the founding documents of Socioeconomic Biology and the library of the CAL papers. The subatomic rung is held as an open edge, described, not claimed. The Principle is offered to thinkers as a description to be checked, not a belief to be held.
