The protection of total saponins of Brassica rapa L. in hypoxic pulmonary vascular injury: efficacy and mechanism

This study investigated the protective effects of Brassica rapa L. total saponins (BRL) on hypoxic pulmonary vascular injury (HPVI). A mouse model and hypoxic cell model of HPVI were established. Transcriptome sequencing, Western blotting, and ELISA were used to investigate the underlying mechanisms. BRL alleviated HPVI by attenuating pulmonary vascular remodelling and inflammatory responses. BRL inhibited the ROCK-TRPC pathway in PASMCs and reduced inflammatory factors by suppressing CXCL5-activated NF-κB nuclear translocation in PMVECs. Our findings reveal that BRL treats HPVI by inhibiting both signalling pathways.
