Reabilitação estética com gengivoplastia e facetas em porcelana: relato de caso
Smile harmony is determined by the balance between dental, gingival, and labial components, directly impacting an individual's self-esteem. Gummy smile, characterized by the exposure of 3 mm or more of gingival tissue, often requires multidisciplinary interventions. The objective of this study is to report the clinical case of a male patient with a history of maxillary trauma in adolescence, presenting dental darkening and signs of bruxism and clenching. The methodology consisted of performing a gingivoplasty for tissue contour correction, followed by rehabilitation with porcelain veneers. Clinical planning was based on naturalness, utilizing diagnostic waxing and careful chromatic selection to mask the darkened substrate while respecting the patient's age and desire to avoid an artificial appearance. As a result, the protocol allowed for the restoration of dental shape and color in a harmonic and functional manner. It is concluded that the integration between periodontal surgery and restorative dentistry, associated with individualized planning that considers trauma sequelae and parafunctions, is essential for restoring the patient's aesthetics and quality of life.
