AI IN HIGHER EDUCATION LEARNING: PERSPECTIVES OF COSMOPOLITAN UNIVERSITY, ABUJA STUDENTS

For this study, we first did an assessment of students’ motivation for HE and their academic experience so far; we then examined university students’ perceptions of the use Artificial Intelligence in their formal learning. The participants were students enrolled into different courses at Cosmopolitan university, Abuja. This research survey examines university students’ perceptions of the use Artificial Intelligence in their higher education learning. A descriptive survey research method was used. Specifically, a questionnaire was used to collect data. The participants were students enrolled in different courses at Cosmopolitan university in Abuja, Nigeria. The results showed that the participants had positive perceptions of the use Artificial Intelligence in their university learning in affective, cognitive, and cognitive domains. Students’ perceptions of the use Artificial Intelligence in their university learning did not differ significantly according to perceived digital dependency. However, students’ perceptions of the use Artificial Intelligence in their university learning were influenced by their use of some AI tools and perceived digital competency. Future directions based on the findings were presented
