STRATEGI KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENCEGAH PELANGGARAN KODE ETIK GURU DI SMA KABUPATEN PIDIE
Objective: This study aims to analyze the strategies employed by school principals to prevent violations of the teachers' code of ethics and to describe the supervisory practices implemented in senior high schools in Pidie Regency. Methods: This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation involving three principals and six teachers from three purposively selected senior high schools in Pidie Regency. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while source triangulation was applied to ensure data credibility. Results: The findings reveal that principals prevent violations of the teachers' code of ethics through five main strategies: code of ethics socialization, teacher development, discipline enforcement, ethics reinforcement programs, and exemplary leadership. Supervision is conducted systematically through classroom supervision, attendance monitoring, periodic evaluation, warnings and coaching, and follow-up actions for violations. These strategies and supervisory practices contribute to fostering a school culture characterized by discipline, professionalism, and integrity. Novelty: This study provides a comprehensive description of the integration of leadership strategies and supervisory practices adopted by school principals as a preventive approach to reducing violations of the teachers' code of ethics, an area that has received limited attention, particularly at the senior high school level.
