The sector grew, with layer-chicken population increasing from 358,669 heads (2022) to 440.280 heads (2025), and registered farmers from 120 to 146. Research Methodology: A quantitative descriptive design was employed with 40 randomly selected assisted layer-chicken farmers. Data were collected through structured questionnaires using Likert-weighted SWOT factors. IFAS and EFAS matrices were applied to determine strategic positioning based on X = Strengths − Weaknesses and Y = Opportunities − Threats. Results: IFAS analysis showed strengths of 2.38 and weaknesses of 0.73, producing an X-axis score of 1.65. The strongest factor was capital assistance improving business capacity (0.494), while the main weakness was insufficient post-assistance mentoring (0.18). EFAS analysis indicated opportunities of 2.28 and threats of 0.58, resulting in a Y-axis score of 1.69. Rising egg demand and income improvement opportunities were the highest factors (0.418). The SWOT position was Quadrant I, indicating an Aggressive SO Strategy. Conclusions: Layer-chicken MSMEs in Mimika Regency demonstrate strong growth potential supported by internal capabilities and favorable external conditions. The recommended strategy focuses on production expansion, innovation, partnerships, and risk mitigation. Limitations: This study is limited to 40 registered farmers, a cross-sectional design, and excludes income analysis and long-term sustainability assessment. Contributions: This study provides SWOT-based evidence for developing post-assistance strategies for layer-chicken MSMEs within the Papua Special Autonomy framework.
