Maturing the data from citizen science for contributing to collaborative environmental compliance assurance | Environmental Crimes 2026 Workshop
This poster was presented at the Environmental Crimes Joint Workshop with ESA-JRC-UNODC (29 September – 1 October 2026, ESA-ESRIN, Frascati, Italy). It presents results from the more4nature project on the technical maturity of citizen-generated data (CGD). The more4nature project aims to trigger transformative change in conservation efforts on zero pollution, biodiversity protection and deforestation prevention. It does so by strengthening the role of citizens and communities in environmental compliance assurance. As part of this work, more4nature analysed, from a technical standpoint, the CGD produced by citizen science (CS) initiatives involved in 21 more4nature cases. more4nature is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme (HORIZON-CL6-2023-GOVERNANCE-01) and by Innovate UK. It runs from January 2024 to December 2027. More information: www.more4nature.eu
