ANALYSIS OF THE DRYING PROCESS OF QUARTZ SAND IN A DRUM DRYER USING A THREE-SECTOR LIFTING-DISTRIBUTING NOZZLE
The article analyzes the deep drying process of quartz sand with an initial moisture content of 20% in a drum dryer, the role of a three-part lifting-distributing nozzle in forming a material curtain, aerodynamic resistance, and overall heat consumption. The study evaluated the effects of drying agent temperature, gas velocity, material consumption, and the number of nozzles on final moisture content, evaporated moisture, drying time, pressure loss, and energy consumption. According to the computational-experimental analysis, using a three-part nozzle allows drying quartz sand to a target moisture content of W2 = 0.3–0.5%, reducing drying time and energy consumption.
