PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR SISWA PADA MATERI PERANCANGAN RUMAH TINGGAL 2 LANTAI DI SMK

Student learning outcomes on the Two-Story Residential House Design material at SMK Negeri 5 Surabaya are still not optimal. Based on initial observations, only 25 out of 70 students (35.7%) achieved the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM), while 45 students (64.3%) had not yet achieved the KKM. This condition indicates the need for a learning model that can actively involve students in understanding and solving problems related to the design material. One learning model that can be applied is Problem Based Learning, which emphasizes problem-solving processes as the basis of learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the PBL model on students' learning outcomes in the Two-Story Residential House Design material at SMK Negeri 5 Surabaya. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 70 students, with 36 students of class XII KGS 1 as the experimental class using the PBL model and 34 students of class XII KGS 2 as the control class using the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. Data were collected using learning outcome tests in the form of a pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and Independent Samples t-Test. The results showed that the mean learning outcome of the experimental class increased from 44.86 in the pretest to 86.94 in the posttest. The hypothesis test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of < 0.001, indicating a significant difference in learning outcomes between students using PBL and those using PjBL, with higher learning outcomes in the PBL class. Thus, the application of the PBL model has an effect on students' learning outcomes in the Two-Story Residential House Design material.
