Directions for Increasing the Sustainability of Agricultural Enterprises on the Basis of Agro-Clusters and Cooperation

The article examines ways of increasing the sustainability of agricultural enterprises through agro-cluster and cooperation models. Three types of cooperation - production, service and marketing cooperatives – are compared, and the priority of the service model in the conditions of Karakalpakstan is substantiated. A six-link agro-cluster model is developed, identifying participants, functions and the distribution of interests. Statistical analysis shows that 89.9 % of livestock output is produced by small household farms and the structural shift index over ten years was only 0.038, which justifies treating cooperation as a priority. Three causes of resistance to cooperation are identified and mechanisms for overcoming them are proposed.
