PENGARUH PEMAHAMAN QAWAID NAHWU PADA MATERI TARKIB IDHAFI TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MENULIS TEKS DESKRIPTIF BAHASA ARAB

This study investigates the influence of understanding Arabic grammatical rules, particularly tarkib idhafi, on the descriptive writing skills of second-semester students in the Arabic Language Education (PBA) program at KH. A. Wahab Hasbullah University. Tarkib idhafi, consisting of mudhaf and mudhaf ilaih, is an important grammatical structure used to express possession, specification, and definiteness in descriptive texts. The study employed a quantitative approach with a causal-associative design. The participants were 25 second-semester students selected through total sampling. Data on students’ understanding of tarkib idhafi (X) were collected through a written test, while their descriptive writing skills (Y) were assessed through a writing task using an analytic scoring rubric. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, and simple linear regression. The results showed that students’ understanding of tarkib idhafi was categorized as good, with a mean score of 79.00 and a standard deviation of 7.906. Their descriptive writing skills improved from a pretest mean of 68.32 to a posttest mean of 80.20. The data met the requirements for parametric analysis, with significance values of 0.417 for X and 0.382 for Y. Regression analysis revealed a strong, positive, and significant relationship between understanding tarkib idhafi and descriptive writing skills (R = 0.976; R² = 0.953; b = 0.553; Sig. = 0.000). Thus, better grammatical understanding significantly improves students’ Arabic descriptive writing performance.
