Solution-Processed Fiber-Shaped Wearable Electronics

Fiber-shaped electronics provide a promising platform for wearable systems because of their intrinsic flexibility, lightweight structure, and compatibility with conventional textile processes. Solution processing is particularly attractive for fabricating such devices, as functional materials can be deposited onto fiber surfaces under relatively mild conditions using coating, printing, and related techniques. In this article, we review solution-processed fiber-shaped electronic devices for energy harvesting, storage, and utilization. Key challenges associated with material deposition, interface formation, mechanical durability, and electrical integration within textile structures are also discussed. Finally, we introduce the potential of ferroelectric nanotube-based composites as functional materials for multifunctional fiber-shaped devices, with particular emphasis on their future applications in wearable energy harvesting and sensing systems.
