Design study of an automatic pipe-discharge device for small-scale well workover operations

A set of automatic pipe-discharge device for small-scale workover operations has been developed to address the problems of long workover cycles, low automation, high manual labour intensity, poor operational safety and environmental pollution in traditional small-scale workover operations. The device is mainly divided into two parts: the tubing slide device and the pipe-discharge device. The device is designed to be operated automatically and manually to meet the requirements of different sizes of tubing and different working conditions, while taking into account the ease of transportation, small footprint of the well site and low environmental pollution. The experimental results show that the device has a reasonable structure, a high degree of automation, and a workflow that meets the needs of small oilfield workover operations; and the results also show that the device operates smoothly and can reliably carry, discharge and store oil tubing, which can improve work efficiency by 20–25% and reduce the labour intensity of workers by 25–30%, so the device has high promotion and application value in the field of small oilfield workover operations.
