Fire Risk Assessment Checklist for Logistics Facilities: Development and Weight Analysis

This study aimed to develop a checklist for quantitatively assessing fire risk in logistics facilities and determine the relative importance of assessment items. To this end, a literature review; a review of relevant laws, regulations, and standards; a field verification; an expert Delphi survey; and an analytic hierarchy process analysis were conducted. The final assessment framework comprised three main categories (fire prevention, fire protection, and firefighting facilities and fire brigade operations), seven divisions, and 20 assessment items. The weights of the three categories were 0.43287, 0.34787, and 0.21925 for fire prevention, fire protection, and firefighting facilities and fire brigade operations, respectively. Among the assessment items, fire doors, fire shutters, and fire compartmentalization safety had the highest global weight (0.14671). Furthermore, a 100-point evaluation system was developed, wherein each item was scored on a five-point scale, and the scores were converted using the global weights. The proposed checklist can serve as a supplementary management tool for comprehensive fire risk diagnosis and for establishing improvement priorities in logistics facilities.
