HUBUNGAN ANTARA KADAR ASAM URAT DENGAN KADAR hs-CRP PADA PASIEN PROLANIS HIPERTENSI

Hypertension is a chronic disease that may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease. Elevated uric acid levels are known to contribute to oxidative stress and inflammatory processes, while high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) is an inflammatory biomarker used to assess cardiovascular disease risk. This study aimed to determine the relationship between uric acid and hs-CRP levels among hypertensive Prolanis patients at Farmalab Medical Laboratory, Bangkalan Regency. This study employed a quantitative observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. Serum samples were obtained from 30 hypertensive Prolanis patients. Uric acid levels were measured using an Homogenus Enzymatic Colometric method, while hs-CRP levels were measured using Fluorescence Immunoassay (FIA). Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test and Spearman correlation. The mean uric acid level was 5.913 mg/dL and the mean hs-CRP level was 2.560 mg/L. Spearman correlation analysis showed no significant relationship between uric acid and hs-CRP levels (r = -0.218; p = 0.246). The correlation coefficient indicated a very weak negative relationship. In conclusion, uric acid levels were not significantly associated with hs-CRP levels among hypertensive Prolanis patients.
