Thelxiope Simonetta & Delle Cave, 1975 (Arthropoda, Mollisoniida), a junior homonym of Thelxiope Rafinesque-Schmaltz, 1814, and reinstatement of Ecnomocaris Conway Morris & Robison, 1988

The Cambrian mollisoniid arthropod genus Thelxiope Simonetta & Delle Cave, 1975 was established for Thelxiope palaeothalassia Simonetta & Delle Cave, 1975 from the Burgess Shale of British Columbia, Canada. Lerosey-Aubril et al. (2020) revised the genus and regarded Ecnomocaris Conway Morris & Robison, 1988, established for Ecnomocaris spinosa Conway Morris & Robison, 1988 from the Wheeler Formation of Utah, as its junior subjective synonym. Sun et al. (2022) subsequently described an additional species, Thelxiope tangi, from the middle Cambrian Linyi Lagerstätte of North China.
