Evaluating Digital Technologies’ Economic and Environmental Effects on Compliance, Governance, and Privacy in Sustainable Environmental Management

The purpose of the study was to analyze new technologies impact on environment. The prospective benefits and challenges of new technologies on the use of technologies within environmental governance and compliance were uncovered in this study. Utilizing a convergence approach of qualitative and quantitative studies, the researchers sent out a survey to 9407 stakeholders within the environment, which included civil society, the private sector, and government. The study found out that the enforcement and reporting of compliance with environmental legislation would be greatly assisted by the streamlining of governance and compliance in the adoption of new technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things (IoT), The study also acknowledged the presence of other challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, expensive technologies, and poor technical capacity. The gaps and challenges on the governance of the environment, compliance, and sustainability would be solved by the introduced new technologies, which in turn would create a sustainable environment. This would lead to the development of Nigeria in an economically sustainable manner, while also providing overall environmental sustainability. The paper recommend that Nigeria's should increase her investment in the construction of training facilities within the administrative regulatory systems of new technological systems in environmental sustainability, collaborative Joint ventures should be encouraged so as to achieve economies and environmental sustainability.
