Źródła do dziejów ziemi spytkowickiej w zasobach Centralnego Państwowego Archiwum Historycznego Ukrainy we Lwowie, cz. 1

SOURCES FOR THE HISTORY OF THE SPYTKOWICE LAND IN THE CENTRAL STATE HISTORICAL ARCHIVES OF UKRAINE IN LVIV. PART 1: LAND CADASTRESFor contemporary historians studying the socio-economic history of southern Polish towns and villages (located in former Galicia) at the turn of the nineteenth century, the land cadastres held in the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv remain crucial. This is also true for the villages of the Spytkowice municipality. Based on the Josephian and Franciscan cadastres, it was possible not only to illustrate the urbanisation processes of the localities in question, but above all to understand how the first rural self-government functioned in this area. Thanks to both cadastres, it was also possible to learn about the agricultural practices of Spytkowice, Bachowice, Ryczów, and neighbouring villages. The analysis of this documentation also gives reason to expand our knowledge of the genealogy of local peasant families, and in some cases can serve as a basis for biographical research on the peasants living in these lands 200 years ago and earlier.
