Decontamination methods for saliva-contaminated dentin in adhesive procedures: a scoping review
This scoping review aims to map the available evidence on decontamination methods for saliva-contaminated dentin during adhesive procedures. Following the JBI methodology and reported according to PRISMA-ScR, it will identify which decontamination methods have been investigated, at which stages of the adhesive procedure contamination was simulated, and with which adhesive systems and restorative materials. It will also map the outcomes, tests, aging protocols and study designs used, describe the results reported for each method, and identify knowledge gaps. Searches cover PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, BVS, Cochrane Library, SciELO and Google Scholar.
