Why Does a Wobble Board Wobble?

A wobble board is a thin sheet of metal or plastic that emits a low frequency wobbling sound when it is held at each end by the hands and moved up and down a few times per second. As the board bends, the amplitude and the frequency of the emitted sound both vary with time, as demonstrated in the supplementary video Wobble1.mov.
