Review Of The Procedure For Release Of Medical Record Information To Third Parties (Insurance) At Pku Muhammadiyah Petanahan Hospital
The release of medical record information to third parties, particularly insurers, must be carried out based on patient consent and written procedures aligned with regulations to ensure the confidentiality of patient data. This study aims to identify the workflow for releasing medical record information to third parties (insurers), assess the conformity of the SOP with Minister of Health Regulation Number 24 of 2022, and analyze the inhibiting factors at PKU Muhammadiyah Petanahan Hospital. The study used a descriptive qualitative method with informants selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document review. The results showed that the information release was already structured, with requirements consisting of an identity card (KTP), a family card, and a stamped statement letter; However, the hospital did not yet have a written SOP specifically for information release and instead used the SOP for medical resume requests. The obstacles found included the absence of the attending physician (DPJP) for the wet signature and incomplete requirements from applicants. The hospital is advised to disseminate information on the workflow for releasing medical record information, including the workflow for requesting medical resumes, to patients, patients' families, and insurers.
