Design and Development of a Web-Based Student Results Management System for Global Junior School Mukono, Uganda
Managing academic results requires accurate computation, dependable records, controlled access and timely reporting. This article develops a literature-informed framework for a proposed web-based student results management system at Global Junior School, Mukono, Uganda. The supplied concept note and literature review were extended through targeted SciSpace searches and verification of relevant scholarly, technical and legal sources. Technology Acceptance Model constructs and the DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model guide consideration of staff acceptance, information quality and organisational benefit, while design science provides the proposed development approach. The review findings indicate that integrated records and configurable processing can support results administration, but their value depends on correct assessment rules, appropriate workflows, staff capability and institutional support. Evidence from other institutions cannot establish the current procedures or performance of the selected school. A three-tier architecture is proposed, incorporating marks validation, versioned grading rules, review before release, rolebased permissions, audit records and tested backup arrangements. Evaluation should compare equivalent tasks against a verified reference dataset, assess usability with actual users and test security and recovery requirements. No prototype or school-level performance data were supplied for this article; the findings are therefore a synthesis of literature and design implications rather than measured system improvements. The article concludes that a requirements-led pilot and transparent evaluation are necessary before claiming gains in processing speed, accuracy or security.
