INFLUENCE ATTENTION, REWARD AND PANISHMENT ON THE QUALITY OF FITK LECTURER HUMAN RESOURCES UIN SUMATERA UTARA MEDAN
This study examines the effects of leadership attention, rewards, and punishment on lecturer human resource (HR) quality, as well as the effects of leadership attention and rewards on the implementation of punishment at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. The study is motivated by the importance of effective lecturer HR management in improving higher education quality. A quantitative approach was employed using path analysis. Data were collected from 136 lecturers selected from a population of 206 based on the Krejcie and Morgan sample size table. The study was conducted from January to June 2026. Data analysis involved descriptive and inferential statistics, analytical assumption testing, correlation analysis, path coefficients, and hypothesis testing. The findings underscore the importance of leadership attention, rewards, and punishment in managing lecturer HR quality. They indicate that improving lecturer quality requires a balanced management approach that combines leadership attention and professional development, performance-based rewards, and fair, proportionate, and developmental punishment. Practically, these findings can inform higher education administrators in designing lecturer development policies and balanced performance management systems. The study’s original contribution lies in its integrated examination of leadership attention, rewards, and punishment in managing lecturer HR quality within the context of Islamic higher education. This perspective offers a basis for understanding how leadership practices and organizational mechanisms can be aligned to support lecturer development and institutional quality improvement.
