Preserving Legacy, Building Access
Small institutions often face significant financial and staffing challenges in providing access to their digital repositories. This case study examines how the Justo and Catherine González Resource Center used standardized workflows, comprehensive metadata, and open-source technologies to develop a sustainable, low-cost means to make its resources widely available. Through structured document management, PDF/A preservation, and a custom Laravel/PostgreSQL repository, the Center demonstrates that professional digital stewardship is within reach of small institutions seeking to maintain and share their collections.
