The impact of hazards on health of crew members under implementation of bunker operations and substantiation of complex of measures on development of security system
The bunkering of vessel is mandatory and technologically complex stage of organization of maritime transportation, associated with high level of occupational health risk for the crew members of both receiving and bunkering vessels. During bunkering operations, at sampling ship fuel, as well as work inside fuel tanks, the crew is exposed to complex impact of toxic vapors and aerosols of petroleum products. This exposure can result in development of acute pathological states and formation of chronic occupational diseases affecting respiratory, nervous, cardiovascular systems as well as haematopoiesis organs. In order to elaborate recommendations to decrease negative health aftermaths for health of crew members under bunkering operations, comprehensive analysis of organizational technological aspects of bunkering was carried out. It permitted to identify key irregularities regarding the stated subject and to formulate recommendations for their elimination.
