Design Of An Inpatient Indicator Dashboard And Morbidity-Mortality Data Visualization To Support Medical Record And Health Information Laboratory Practice

Inpatient data recording at educational health institutions generally still relies on separate forms such as registration books, daily census, RP1, and RL1, causing staff to enter the same data repeatedly and risking discrepancies between forms. This study developed a web-based Inpatient Information System that allows patient data to be entered only once, covering registration, automatic census, recording of room/care-class transfers, calculation of BOR, AvLOS, TOI, and BTO indicators with Barber-Johnson graphs, GDR-NDR quality indicators, as well as morbidity reports and daily census details in RP1 format. The system was developed using a descriptive qualitative approach and the R&D Waterfall method with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and published via GitHub Pages with data stored in the Supabase (PostgreSQL) cloud database. Black-box testing on nine scenarios with 113 patient data records for the May–June 2026 period showed that all functions ran according to design without data duplication. BOR (67.71%), TOI (2.94 days), and BTO (3.18 times) were classified as ideal, while AvLOS (9.22 days) exceeded the standard, and GDR-NDR remained "not good". Suggestions for further development include integration with the existing SIMRS and strengthening of data security.

The system was developed using a descriptive qualitative approach and the R&D Waterfall method with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and published via GitHub Pages with data stored in the Supabase (PostgreSQL) cloud database.
