The Electrochemical Pursuit of Manganese Cobaltite Electrospun Nanofibers as Supercapacitor Electrode

ABSTRACT This work presents the attainable binder‐free synthesis of manganese cobaltite using the electrospinning method on stainless‐steel substrate, as a reliable supercapacitor electrode material. To utilize the detailed electrochemical assets of the material, the annealing temperature is attuned to varying values. The combined effect of temperature variation between nanofiber morphology and wettability leads to the electrode's desired hydrophilic nature. Using XPS, the material's electrochemically contributing multi‐chemical states are confirmed. To comprehend the synergistic effects of electrochemical behavior of the as‐prepared Manganese Cobaltite films, they are analyzed with regard to a variable class of electrolytes. The best performance of the electrode is found in merely 0.5 M aq. Potassium hydroxide electrolyte at 0.7 mA cm −2 , which offers an incredible 196 C g −1 specific capacity. The corresponding symmetric supercapacitor revealed incredible 50.5 C g −1 , revealing efficacy to serve supercapacitor applications. The device delivered noticeable merits as energy and power density reached 7.1 Wh kg −1 and 6.4 kW kg −1 , respectively. This work assembles the appropriate parameter tunability and analytical insights in demonstrating dependable, flexible, binder‐free, and efficiently stable electrode material.
