RELEVANSI MATA KULIAH STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN DAN PROFESI KEPENDIDIKAN TERHADAP KOMPETENSI MAHASISWA PRAKTIK KEPENDIDIKAN DI SMP NEGERI 4 SEWON

Objective: This study aims to analyze the relevance of the Learning Strategies and Educational Profession courses to student competencies during the educational practicum at SMP Negeri 4 Sewon. Methods: A qualitative method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected through participant observation and semi-structured interviews with student teachers and supervising teachers. Observations focused on lesson implementation, classroom management, and the students' professional demeanor, while interviews explored their understanding, experiences, and the challenges encountered in applying the concepts from these two courses. Result: The results indicate that the Learning Strategies Course contributes to students' pedagogical and professional competencies, particularly regarding lesson planning and implementation. The Educational Profession course plays a role in shaping students' discipline, sense of responsibility, and professional ethics for students as prospective teachers. However, the application of both courses still faces challenges that require adjustments to suit specific school conditions. The novelty of this research lies in its contextual examination of the integration between these two educational courses and the practicum experience in a junior high school setting, serving as a basis for curriculum evaluation for study program with an educational focus.
