Relationship Between Total 25(OH) Vitamin D Levels and ANA IF Titers in Autoimmune Patients at Santosa Hospital Bandung Kopo
Autoimmune disease is a failure of the immune system in which the body attacks and damages its own tissues, organs, and cells. Autoimmune conditions can be triggered by several factors, including environmental factors, lifestyle, hormonal factors, and vitamin D deficiency. To date, no curative treatment has been established for autoimmune diseases. Vitamin D therapy is frequently used in patients diagnosed with autoimmune conditions because vitamin D acts as an immunomodulator. Antinuclear Antibody Immunofluorescence (ANA IF) is regarded as a gold-standard semi-quantitative examination for systemic autoimmune disease and can be interpreted at several titers. This study aimed to determine the relationship between total 25(OH) vitamin D levels and ANA IF titers. The study was conducted at the Sandia Laboratory of Santosa Hospital Bandung Kopo using medical check-up data. Total 25(OH) vitamin D and ANA IF results from patients diagnosed with autoimmune disease were collected from August 2025 to September 2026. The sample comprised 150 patients. The analysis indicated that vitamin D deficiency was significantly associated with ANA IF titers. Vitamin D deficiency was associated with a greater risk of a positive autoimmune finding. In conclusion, there is a relationship between total 25(OH) vitamin D levels and ANA IF titers.
