Traducción, adaptación y validación de la Escala Breve de Satisfacción en la Relación de Pareja (RAS) al quechua Collao del sur del Perú

We conducted an instrumental study to translate, adapt, and validate the Brief Satisfaction in the Couple Relationship Scale into the Collao Quechua variant used in southern Peru. A total of 305 Quechua speakers from Puno participated, selected through intentional non-probabilistic sampling. The original instrument underwent back-translation, expert review, and analysis of internal structure and reliability. All items were clear, relevant, and representative (V > .70), with strong agreement among translators (Kappa = .90). The CFA showed a residual association between items 1 and 2, so we eliminated item 1 and retained a four-item version. According to IRT, the graded response model showed favorable values (CFI = .987; TLI = .960; RMSEA = .131; SRMR = .030), although the high RMSEA suggests caution in interpreting the global fit. The omega coefficient was ω = .885 and the marginal reliability was rxx = .869. In conclusion, the four-item Collao Quechua version of the RAS demonstrates content validity, internal structure, and reliability, supporting its usefulness as a brief and easy-to-apply measure in Quechua-speaking populations of the Peruvian highlands.
