The Effect of Alginate Dressing Use on Healing of Diabetic Ulcers at Rumah Perawatan Luka Sahabat Wound Care

Chronic consequences of diabetes mellitus, diabetic foot ulcers require good wound care since they frequently cause delayed healing and raise the risk of infection and amputation. In 2026, the Sahabat Wound Care Clinic conducted a research to investigate the impact of alginate dressing on the healing of diabetic foot ulcers. The study employed a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design with 35 patients chosen by purposive sampling. The independent variable was alginate dressing, while the dependent variable was wound healing as determined by the Wagner classification scale. Using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with α = 0.05, the data were examined. A p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) indicated that wound healing had improved following therapy. According to the study's findings, alginate dressing is advised for wound care management as it greatly speeds up the healing of diabetic foot ulcers.
