Mechanisms for Improving Fixed Capital Efficiency Through Modernization, Digitalization and Innovation

This study develops an integrated framework for improving the efficiency of fixed capital through physical modernization, digital monitoring and innovation-oriented investment in Uzbekistan. It combines the latest available annual national investment data with the January–June 2026 release and internationally documented productivity constraints. The analysis distinguishes fixed-capital investment flows from gross fixed capital formation and enterprise-level capital stocks. A multidimensional diagnostic table and an editable SmartArt-style implementation model connect baseline assessment, project selection, digital execution, workforce capabilities and post-investment evaluation. The study argues that capital spending alone is an inadequate measure of modernization success: enterprise-level evidence on asset utilization, downtime, output per unit of capital and energy intensity is required. The proposed mechanisms are testable managerial recommendations rather than empirically established causal effects.
