Tingkat Kepuasan Ibu Menyusui terhadap Pemberian Kolostrum di Rumah Sakit: Studi Deskriptif Kuantitatif
Background: Colostrum, the first milk produced after birth, is rich in immune and other bioactive components, and delayed initiation of breastfeeding is associated with a higher risk of neonatal death. Colostrum feeding coverage in the study regency was reported to be below the expected target, yet little is known about how mothers perceive the colostrum feeding they receive in hospital. Objective: To describe the level of satisfaction among breastfeeding mothers with colostrum feeding at an Islamic hospital in Jepara, Central Java, Indonesia. Methods: A descriptive quantitative study was conducted using total sampling of 30 breastfeeding mothers. Data were collected with a 12-item Likert-scale questionnaire on satisfaction with colostrum feeding and analysed descriptively as frequencies and percentages. Informed consent, anonymity, and confidentiality were maintained throughout the study. Results: Most respondents were aged 20-35 years (27 respondents, 90.0%), multiparous (16 respondents, 53.3%), had completed senior high school (15 respondents, 50.0%), and were housewives (15 respondents, 50.0%). Twenty-two respondents (73.3%) were very satisfied, seven (23.3%) were satisfied, and one (3.3%) was fairly satisfied with colostrum feeding. Conclusion: Most breastfeeding mothers were very satisfied with colostrum feeding at the hospital. Maternity nurses and midwives should maintain structured education and support for colostrum feeding, and future studies should use larger samples and analytical designs to examine factors related to satisfaction.
