The Architectural Fallacy of Λ
The Architectural Fallacy of Λ Vindicating Einstein's Blunder Through Discrete Network Mechanics, the Void Cover Partition, and the Resolution of Cosmological Tensions Modern theoretical physics stands at a fundamental epistemological crossroads. While General Relativity and the Standard Model achieve exquisite agreement with localized laboratory tests, their synthesis at cosmological scales requires an uncomfortable reliance on dark sectors comprising ~95% of the universe’s energy budget. At the center of this empirical divide sits the Cosmological Constant (Λ). When Albert Einstein introduced Λ into General Relativity in 1917 to force a static universe, he later famously retracted it as his “greatest blunder.” Following the 1998 discovery of cosmic acceleration, mainstream astrophysics reinstated Λ as a continuous, spatially homogeneous vacuum energy density. This monograph demonstrates that Einstein’s original intuition was doubly correct: forcing a static, continuous scalar constant onto a smooth differential manifold (R⁴) was an ad-hoc architectural mistake that directly manufactured both the 10¹²⁰ Vacuum Catastrophe and modern late-universe cosmological tensions (the 5.0σ H₀ Hubble tension, the S₈ weak lensing floor, and the Splashback Radius anomaly). By shifting from the continuum paradigm to Substrate Logistics—where physical space is modeled as a discrete, synchronous network updating its state ledger at a fundamental master refreshrate—vacuum acceleration is reclassified from a mysterious physical substance or geometric elasticity into the active background memory overhead of a discrete spatial processor: the Global Resting Cover Ledger (Σ₀,Ledger = 6.0022 × 10⁻¹⁰ J/m³). By deconstructing Λ into bare-metal network mechanics, this work demonstrates that the cosmological "tensions" baffling 21st-century astrophysics are not physical mysteries or evidence of systemic errors, but the mathematical artifacts of reifying continuous fluid abstractions. Retiring the continuous continuum transitions cosmology from phenomenological curve-fitting into a predictive, parameter-free engineering discipline.
