HUBUNGAN MINAT BELAJAR TERHADAP HASIL BELAJARIPA-BIOLOGI SISWA KELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 38 PADANG

This research is motivated by the low interest in learning Science-Biology of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 38 Padang which has an impact on learning outcomes. This condition can be seen from the low attention, activeness, and enthusiasm of students during the learning process so that most of the scores have not reached the Learning Goal Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 83. This study aims to determine the relationship between learning interest and the learning outcomes of Science-Biology students in grade VIII of SMP Negeri 38 Padang. The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive method. The research sample totals 219 students who were selected using the purposive sampling technique. The research instrument is in the form of a learning interest questionnaire, while data analysis uses correlation tests, determination coefficients, simple linear regression, and t tests. The results of the study show that the correlation coefficient value is r = 0.07 with a determination coefficient of 0.49%. Meanwhile, the results of the t-test were obtained with the results of t-calculation< t-table of 0.55<1.999, which means that H1 was rejected HO was accepted. From the results of the questionnaire distribution, there was an average value of 76.17% of the attention sub-variable, 82.03% of willingness, 84.03% of pleasure, 70.70% of desire and 82.06% of learning outcomes. In conclusion, there was an insignificant relationship between interest in learning and learning outcomes at SMP Negeri 38 Padang.
