From Monitoring to Shared Workspaces: The Contract and an Implementation Audit (version 1.2)
A report by Rashid Azarang, version 1.2 (29 October 2026). It states a small contract for shared context between agent sessions whose harnesses are disconnected and heterogeneous: three ownership boundaries (the external resource, each participant's harness, the shared layer), delivery and recovery rules, a worked collaboration, and an audit of one implementation (Monitor Protocol) with re-runs on five releases. The contract was proposed on 21 and 22 September 2026, before the first record of the desks that later tested it. The field study that reads three shared desks in real use against this contract is a separate work: Coordination Records Across Agent Sessions: A Field Study of Three Shared Desks, Zenodo, DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23776706 (version 1.2). Earlier versions of this text (0.2 to 0.9) were the design sections of that study; from version 1.0 the report stands on its own. Files: the report as PDF and as Markdown source.
