The Relationship Between Vitamin A Intake and Stunting Severity Among Children (6–24 Months) at Bagu Community Health Center, Central Lombok

Stunting is a global nutritional problem. Globally, approximately 150.2 million children are affected by stunting. In Indonesia, West Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Barat/NTB) has consistently ranked among the four provinces with the highest stunting rates from 2021 to 2024. If left unaddressed, stunting can have both short-term and long-term consequences, including impaired physical growth, development, and cognitive function. This study aimed to determine the association between vitamin A intake and stunting severity among children aged 6–24 months in the working area of Bagu Public Health Center, Central Lombok, in 2025. This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study included 43 children aged 6–24 months with stunting in the working area of Bagu Public Health Center, Central Lombok, whose mothers served as respondents. Participants were selected using total sampling. Data were collected from Maternal and Child Health (MCH) handbooks and questionnaires incorporating a 24-hour dietary recall. Bivariate analysis using Fisher’s exact test yielded a p-value of 1.000 (p > 0.05), indicating no statistically significant association between vitamin A intake and stunting severity among children aged 6–24 months in the working area of Bagu Public Health Center, Central Lombok, in 2025.
