Twisted Sectors in Practice: The Möbius–Klein Transform as a Usable Tool

Antiperiodic closures, half-integer lattices and glide symmetries recur across physics and engineering. On the double cover of a ring, a cell or a frame they are one object, the twisted sector of the Möbius–Klein transform, read by a half-bin FFT. One sign rule organizes it: an operation that commutes with the deck shift keeps the sectors, and one that anticommutes exchanges them. A table of calculus rules carries its seam terms; a Laplace and z-domain reading gives initial-value and timing rules for twisted preambles. A sector solver covers Matsubara, zone-boundary and glide problems, with every saving stated against its reference. An orientation criterion tells when a symmetric domain reduces to a non-orientable quotient. In quantum circuits a layer of single-qubit phases gives the half-bin fermionic Fourier transform. Circuits with integer momenta prepare a state of the antiperiodic chain or of the odd sector, and with the layer the preparation is exact. A Möbius closure turns a Kitaev ladder into a channel filter. Spectral methods on the ball receive a two-bit character per component and a static check of written formulas, and sector heat traces give exact benchmarks for non-orientable solvers. On a non-orientable flat universe the 2 linear polarizations of a planar gravitational-wave mode occupy different lattices. In signal processing the sector label fixes the kernel transitions of lapped transforms. The prefix correlator of the LTE uplink reads the twist as half a subcarrier of offset, and a sign-corrected estimate removes it. A memoryless device under a twisted drive reaches the data bins through the odd part of its characteristic alone. For periodic structures the article gives a glide half-cell recipe for solvers that map faces by translations and rotations. It reads the C* box of lattice QCD+QED as a sector and states the closed-shell rule of Möbius nanobelts.
