Changes in Livelihood Diversification through the Karot Hydropower Project under CPEC Initiative: A Study on Rural Transformation Insight from the Two Villages Kannand and Hollar

CPEC initiative has been resulting into positive impact in many regions. Rural transformations and changes in livelihood have been recorded as one of these developments. Changes in livelihood diversification due to Karot Hydropower Project under CPEC initiative. It was studied through its impact on Rural Transformation in two Villages Kannand and Hollar. The findings related to changes in livelihood diversification among residents, a remarkable shift in income sources diversification has occurred in the study area attributed to rural labor commoditization. The results show that many people have not only been employed in project construction related sectors, but many have taken these opportunities to build new local business enterprises. The findings further illustrate that project developer has enhanced the skill sets of the local rural human resources through training programs. Many young people now have confidently embarked on new professions, and some are excelling in technology-driven professions.
