Pendampingan Pelestarian Tradisi Wiwitan sebagai Warisan Budaya Lokal Masyarakat Agraris di Desa Tumpukan, Karangdowo, Klaten

The Wiwitan tradition is a cultural heritage of agrarian communities that reflects gratitude for the harvest, religious values, mutual cooperation, and togetherness. This community service activity aimed to support efforts to preserve the Wiwitan tradition in Tumpukan Village, Karangdowo, Klaten, through introductory activities and documentation of its history, process, symbols, and cultural values. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with field observation, an interview with the village head, introduction of the tradition, and documentation. The information gathered indicates that Wiwitan has been passed down through generations, is held before the rice harvest, and involves four farmer groups. The tradition is understood by local informants as an expression of gratitude and a prayer for safety and blessings. The activity produced organized information that can support cultural learning and future preservation efforts. However, the available data do not yet establish measurable changes in community awareness; continued collaboration with farmer groups, village government, and younger generations is therefore recommended.
