Supporting Empathy in Preschoolers With Disabilities

Empathy is a crucial social-emotional skill for children with and without disabilities. However, children with disabilities often receive little to none empathy support. Educators are encouraged to use a strengths-based approach by applying the "theory of the double empathy problem." In addition, strategies from a literature review will provide further support to educators in addressing children with specific disabilities.
