Hubungan Antara Kadar Karboksihemoglobin (COHb) Dengan Aktivitas Enzim Alanine Transaminase (ALT) Pada Tukang Ojek Online
Exposure to motor vehicle emissions among online motorcycle taxi drivers has the potential to increase blood carboxyhemoglobin levels, which can impair oxygen distribution to tissues. Hypoxia and oxidative stress can theoretically affect liver cells and alter alanine transaminase enzyme activity. This study aimed to determine the relationship between carboxyhemoglobin levels and alanine transaminase activity in online motorcycle taxi drivers. An observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design was employed. The study sample consisted of 48 online motorcycle taxi drivers selected using purposive sampling. Carboxyhemoglobin levels were measured using UV-Vis spectrophotometry, while alanine transaminase activity was assessed using an enzymatic kinetic method. Data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed that 10 respondents (20.8%) had normal carboxyhemoglobin levels and 38 respondents (79.2%) had abnormal levels, with a mean level of 6.90%. Alanine transaminase activity was within normal limits for 46 respondents (95.8%) and abnormal for 2 respondents (4.2%), with a mean of 48 U/L. The Spearman test yielded a p-value of 0.514 and a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.096. There was no significant relationship between carboxyhemoglobin levels and alanine transaminase activity among the online motorcycle taxi drivers. These findings indicate that abnormal carboxyhemoglobin levels were not accompanied by significant changes in alanine transaminase activity.
