Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga Terhadap Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) pada Masyarakat Pasca Bencana Banjir di Kelurahan Tabing Banda Gadang Kota Padang Tahun 2026

Flood disasters can cause physical, social, and psychological impacts, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Family support is considered an important factor in the psychological recovery of disaster survivors. This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and PTSD among people affected by floods in Tabing Banda Gadang Village, Padang City. This quantitative study used a cross-sectional design. The population was 178 flood-affected residents of RT 03 RW 01, and 64 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected on 2–6 June 2026 using a family support questionnaire and the PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), then analyzed using univariate analysis and the Chi-Square test. The largest proportion of respondents had low family support (48.4%), and more than half had PTSD (56.3%). PTSD was most common among respondents with low family support (77.4%), compared with moderate (45.0%) and high support (23.1%). There was a significant relationship between family support and PTSD (p = 0.002). Health workers are expected to strengthen family support through education and counseling for post-disaster communities.
