Observation of $χ_{c1,2}\to p K^- K^- \bar Ξ^{+} +c.c.$ and search for $χ_{c0}\to p K^- K^- \bar Ξ^{+} +c.c.$

By analyzing $(2.712\pm0.014)\times10^9$ $ψ(3686)$ events collected by the BESIII detector, we report the first experimental study of the decays $χ_{cJ}\to p K^- K^- \bar Ξ^{+}+c.c.~(J=0,1,2)$. The decays $χ_{c1}\to p K^- K^- \bar Ξ^{+}+c.c.$ and $χ_{c2}\to p K^- K^- \bar Ξ^{+}+c.c.$ are observed for the first time with significances of $9.0σ$ each, and their branching fractions are determined to be $\mathcal{B}_{χ_{c1}\to p K^- K^- \bar Ξ^{+}+c.c.} =(9.6^{+2.2}_{-2.0}\pm0.8)\times10^{-6}$, and $\mathcal{B}_{χ_{c2}\to p K^- K^- \bar Ξ^{+}+c.c.} =(7.5^{+1.8}_{-1.5}\pm0.5)\times10^{-6}$, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. No significant signal is observed for $χ_{c0}\to p K^- K^- \bar Ξ^{+}+c.c.$, and an upper limit on its branching fraction of $12.7\times10^{-6}$ is established at the 90\% confidence level.
