CONTRIBUTION OF GREEN WAQF TO GREEN JOB CREATION IN INTEGRATED AGRICULTURE IN EAST JAVA

Green waqf has increasingly moved from a static charitable asset toward a productive instrument that can connect Islamic social finance, agroecological management, and rural economic empowerment. This study analyzes the contribution of Green Waqf to green job creation in integrated agriculture in East Java, focusing on the Sustainable Green Waqf ecosystem developed around Pisang Mas Kirana in Klungkung Village, Sukorambi, Jember. The study uses a qualitative case-study design. Primary material consists of field interview notes Farmers Community of YDSF, while supporting documentary data are drawn from the research, including biomass, market-access, institutional, agronomic, and field-triangulation findings. The data were organized using an NVivo-compatible thematic procedure comprising open coding, axial coding, selective coding, matrix coding, project mapping, and word-frequency visualization. The findings identify four interconnected green-job clusters: sustainable cultivation and land-water management; livestock-crop integration and organic fertilizer processing; biomass and nutrient recycling; and productive-waqf governance, farmer mentoring, and market intermediation. The local system contains an estimated 870 tons of biomass annually, with nutrient-recycling potential of 5,430 kg N, 2,610 kg P2O5, and 4,850 kg K2O per year. Green Waqf also strengthens enabling conditions through YDSF mentoring and off-taker arrangements, while constraints remain in fertilizer availability, plant and livestock disease management, water management, waqf literacy, and digital governance. The novelty lies in positioning green jobs not as an external labor-market outcome but as occupations and productive roles generated inside a regenerative waqf-based agroecological value chain.
