Digital presence and discoverability of constituent units of NCERT libraries: A study
The current study employs content analysis to evaluate the extent of Information resources, services, and web features on the library websites of eight constituent entities of NCERT. The study used a predetermined checklist, developed from various sources, to identify gaps, assess usability and effectiveness, rank the institutes' websites, and make recommendations for improvement. The analysis revealed that RIE Bhopal has secured first place across four consecutive features. The analysis indicates that the library (100%) and services (100%) sections are integrated into all the NCERT unit websites. In accordance with services and facilities, the majority of institutions (75%) integrate OPAC, and (87.5%) integrate Photo/Video facilities on their websites. Only 62.5% of institutions provide navigation and direct-link access. A few libraries have keyword search and social networking facilities integrated into their websites. No library has provided a feedback mechanism for users, yet feedback is the most essential component of a library.
